Miss Robin
It was your typical Ohio snowy winter day, and we were at the grandparents with Jasmine. She is really a great traveler, and is very well mannered in homes that are strange to her.
The snow was about 6 inches deep, and Jasmine soon found a spot that was hers alone square in front of the double patio doors. She lay there on her spot and surveyed the entire patio, and trees surrounding the area. That was when she spotted her. It was one of the largest robins either of us had ever seen. She was clearly keeping herself “winterized” with a thick coat of feathers, and not missing a meal. Then it started. First, a low GRRRR from Jasmine. Then a cold stair back at Jazz from Miss Robin. This went on for quite a while. But every once in a while, Jasmine’s tail would wag, and correspondingly, Miss Robin would fluff up her feathers.
In the evening, we took Jasmine out for a walk, and she literally bolted for the tree where Miss Robin had been perched. but to her dismay, Miss Robin was gone. We walked for quite a while before coming back inside and saw a lot of birds, but no Miss Robin.
The next morning, Jasmine was fascinated following Grandpa around, and didn’t make it over to her spot by the patio doors. But Miss Robin did. Sitting on her perch, there was no big dogie on the other side of those glass doors, so Miss Robin flew down and sat right in front of the doors looking in and wondering where her new found friend was. Finally, Jasmine was back on her spot, and looking up she eyed Miss Robin on her perch in the tree. Ahhh the two had become BFF. Make it a WagginDelight-ful day.
